SIMULATED TRAVEL

Simtrav icon

You may not know you’re watching our work with simulated vehicle travel and that’s the way we like it!

Our simulated travel (sim trav) blends seamlessly with the scenes its embedded in. In simple terms, simulated travel involves filming vehicles and actors against our LED walls in the comfort of our studio. With the use of 3D created or actual filmed background plates,  we can create realistic travel shots. Cars, planes, boats, automobiles, and everything in between can be simulated in our studio. Realistic travel or intergalactic space adventures we can take you there all without leaving the confines of our comfortable studio.

WHY USE SIMULATED TRAVEL?

01

IMPROVED
SAFETY FOR ALL

No more dangerous or hard to reach locations - your crew stay safe indoors.

02

COMPLETE ENVIRONMENT CONTROL

Weather conditions, shooting out of season, time of day control and location amendments are all made in our studio.

03

QUICK
RESET TIMES

No more lengthy travel resets to get cast and crew back to the first travel position. In our studio, your reset time is the push of a button.

04

SAVE BUDGET ON
TRAVEL EXPENSES

Instead of taking your entire crew to some far away desert, we'll bring the desert to you without the need for any sun or wind protection.

SPOTLIGHT:

LOVE ME

Dreamscreen created numerous simulated travel sequences throughout Love Me season 1 & 2. Using a combination of the LED walls, practical cinematography, and choreographed camera work, we are very proud of realism we were able to bring to these beautifully acted scenes.

SPOTLIGHT:

FIRES

ABC's Fires was a groundbreaking production for virtual production in Victoria. Dreamscreen not only designed several of the travel environments but assisted with the simulated travel sequences. The result was a series of jaw-dropping (but completely safe) scenes to support this important story.
